Richard Morris (He/They)

CEO and co-founder

Racing Pride

Richard founded Racing Pride, the world-leading movement championing LGBTQ+ inclusion through motorsport and its associated industries, alongside being a European champion racing driver. Having been closeted for the majority of his career since starting kart racing at the age of 12, Richard came out in motorsport in late 2018, wanting to change the lack of visible LGBTQ+ representation and allyship in the sport, challenge perceptions and stereotypes about both the sport and the community, and help provide education and safe spaces for discussion to foster allyship. Racing Pride, which launched in June 2019, is now working in partnership with 5 Formula One teams as well as major companies within the automotive industry and has members across roughly 20 different countries. Richard also chairs the LGBTQ+ Expert Committee at Motorsport UK and has been part of important progress in that role, too, such as MSUK becoming the first motorsport national governing body in the world to introduce a trans inclusion policy based on respecting self-identification of gender.
