Birgit Neu is an independent Senior DEI Advisor, focussing on DEI strategy design, communications and learning development for multinationals. Birgit was previously Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at HSBC and has had a broad career spanning multiple sectors including digital, retail, publishing and financial services.  

She has been named in the Inspirational d&i Leaders 2023, LinkedIn’s Top 10 UK Voices for Equity 2022, Top 20 Diversity Professionals in Industry 2020 by the Global Diversity List, and Head of Diversity of the Year at the 2019 European Diversity Awards.  

Birgit is a trustee for legal charity Advocates for International Development (A4ID) and an advisory board member for workplace equity platform Syndio.  Birgit is an advisor to Nexus, the UK network for corporate LGBTQ+ employee network leaders, and also co-chairs Gender Networks, the UK network for corporate gender employee network leaders. She is a Visiting Lecturer on DEI for Warwick Business School’s MBA programmes and is a regular speaker and contributor to thought leadership across different aspects of DEI and ESG for leading organisations worldwide.
