Dr Rupert Whitaker OBE is a psychiatrist, immunologist and one of the world’s longest-surviving people with HIV. Following the death of his partner, Terrence Higgins, in 1982, he co-founded the Terrence Higgins Trust, which is today the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health support charity. He is the Executive Chairman of the Tuke Institute, a healthcare think tank, and Executive Director of Valorem7, a leadership development agency. Rupert is an independent scientific and clinical consultant and was a long-term advisor to NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
